Night Bus Home

The brief

A season trailer for a theatre that did not want to show a stage. One actor, one walk home, and the sense that something had just happened.

The shoot

A single stabilised camera, one light on a pole and six takes of the same four hundred metres. We shot after the last bus so the street was ours, and finished before the first one.

The cut

Take four is the film. The edit was a morning; the sound took the rest of the week, because the walk is carried by footsteps, a bus that never arrives and a line of dialogue heard through a wall.
